Abstract:  This document provides student materials for an entry-level course in the
concepts of Performance-Based Equipment Training (PBET), a workshop developed
by SEMATECH's Organizational Learning and Performance Technology Department.
The course is designed for persons who are responsible for training others in
the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of process equipment and is best
suited for equipment trainers, technical trainers, and technical training
developers. This document explains the basic steps for designing and
developing effective training courses, with emphasis on the instructional
development process. Its eight modules provide an introduction and modules
teaching how to identify, analyze, design, develop, pilot, deliver, and
evaluate training courses.
