Abstract:  This report from the MFGM032M project represents the consensus of
the International SEMATECH Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI) member
companies on their vision of the future and direction for
preventive and predictive maintenance (PPM). It presents concepts
and values, rather than specific methods or procedures, to be
used by equipment suppliers and others in the industry to
understand the direction and requirements for PPM, to allow for
strategic planning and participation in the ISMI PPM Project, and
to begin discussions on the capabilities needed to realize PPM as
a source of improved factory productivity. This revision adds a
section on implementation considerations.
